Our Mission

At Legal Awareness, our core mission is prisoners' rights transparency. We believe that every incarcerated individual — regardless of legal background or resources — deserves access to clear, accurate information about their constitutional protections and legal standing. Transparency is not a privilege. It is the foundation of justice.

We are committed to closing the information gap between the legal system and those most affected by it — providing practical education, accessible resources, and ongoing advocacy for those who have historically been left without a voice.

Current Focus: 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1)

Among the legal statutes with the most direct and lasting impact on formerly incarcerated individuals is 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1) — the federal felon-in-possession firearms law. This statute has wide-reaching consequences for millions of Americans and is currently under significant judicial and legislative scrutiny.
